Sports Physical Day June 13, 2023 2-6 pm.
A complete and signed IHSAA Physical is required every year for every athlete at OVMS/OVHS and must be given to the Athletic Department prior to participating in practices and/or contests after the official practice date of each sports program.
Please register your child for their sport on Final Forms and this will populate all required athletic forms.
Complete the health history form, print it out, and take it with you to the Sports Physical Day at IU Health to speed your visit. There will also be blank forms available at the clinic.
This is a HUGE cost savings for athletes and we appreciate IU Health-Spencer for offering this again this year.
Yearbooks are in! They look great!
Students who ordered them are bringing these home today!

It's TEACHER FEATURE TUESDAY!
We are so appreciative of the many fantastic teachers here at Spencer-Owen Community Schools that make our schools a great place to learn for our students! Each Tuesday, we will feature one of our teachers and ask them to share why they love teaching.
This week, we are featuring Ms. Brittany VanHook. Ms. VanHook is an inclusion teacher at Owen Valley Middle School and has taught for 10 years.
Thank you for all that you've done for your students, Ms. VanHook!
"Why I Love Teaching"
This is my 10th year teaching, and every year I am here for one primary reason, my students. Middle school students tend to carry a bad reputation, but I can't imagine working with any other age group. At this age, they are starting to discover who they are and what they want to be. I get to be a small part of that. I come to school knowing they need me, not just to help them learn math but to share a story, a laugh, or sometimes a few tears. They need me, and honestly, I need them too.
There is no other profession quite like teaching. It is hard, no day is the same, and it can be exhausting, but when I see former students, I know it is the only profession for me.
