The Lady Patriots will play the overall Championship Game against the winner of the East Division on Tuesday, February 27 at 6:00 PM at North Clay.

The Lady Patriots will take on the winner of the West Division on Tuesday, February 27th at 6:00 PM at North Clay Middle School in Brazil.

Due to the impending snow, tonight's Sweetheart Dance has been postponed until next Friday (February 23rd).
The dance will be from 6 PM - 8 PM
Girls Basketball 8th Grade Night will be Tuesday, February 27, 2024 following the 7th grade game (approximately 6:45 PM). 7th grade game will begin at 6:00 PM.
The Lady Patriots will take on the Trojans of Tri-North.
Wrestling 8th Grade Night Announced:
OVMS will recognize our 8th grade Wresters at their Monday, February 26, 2024 meet against Bedford Middle School.
The meet will begin at 6:00 PM at Owen Valley Middle School.
Wrestlers will be honored before the meet.

With the warmer weather this week, students got to enjoy some time at the track during PE class.
OVMS is excited to announce we will be offering After School Tutoring.
After School tutoring will begin on Monday, February 12th, 3:30 - 4:30 PM
Monday will be dedicated to math, please meet in Mrs. Wheeler's Room
Tuesday, will be dedicated to language arts, please meet in Ms. Kennedy's Room.
Quarter 3 Mid-term progress report are being sent home today. Students will receive them in their 7th period class today.
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 2ND IS THE DEADLINE TO PURCHASE TICKETS FOR OVMS Night at the Pacers. A portion of each ticket sale will be donated back to OVMS.

OVMS February Athletic Calendar
The OVMS Wrestling Meet, originally scheduled for Tuesday, January 30th, at Brown County, has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.
Ten minutes of individual in reading begins in PRIDE tomorrow! Don't forget your reading material. Remember, this is completely student choice what they want to read. They can choose anything from Harry Potter; graphic novels; a non-fiction book;or magazines about dirt bikes, cars, or tractors. I'll be participating right along with the kids! See you all tomorrow. Reading opens up a whole new world and opportunities for our students. At OVMS, we want to to promote reading as enjoyable activity.
Starting Monday, January 22nd, OVMS will begin observing 10 minutes of individual reading during PRIDE class. Everyone from Principal Arthur, Assistant Principal Potts, teachers, instructional aides, and students will participate in the 10 minutes of reading everyday.
This is a time for students to read anything they enjoy from Harry Potter; graphic novels; non-fiction book about Kobe Bryant or Michael Jordan; to a magazine of their choice including about dirt bikes, trucks, or tractors. The object is for students to 100% choose what they want to read.
Students and adults will be required to read a physical book or magazine. They will not be permitted to read from their Chromebooks or any other electronic device.

OVMS National Junior Honor Society Members visited Owen Valley Health Campus to go caroling .
NJHS members did a wonderful job, and sang their hearts out! The residents kept referring to NJHS as a choir, and honestly this group of students had some singing talent for sure!

Students in Ms. Collins Preparing for College and Careers were able to tour and discover Hoosier Hills Career Center. Hoosier Hills provides a variety of career training opportunities that are open to juniors and seniors.

OVMS has partnered with the Indiana Pacers to participate in an exciting FUNdraiser!
We will have our very own school night at a Pacers game with a check presentation at center court during halftime!
Everyone will be together cheering on our hometown Pacers on Thu, Mar 7, 2024, when the Pacers take on the Minnesota Timberwolves.
If you can’t make it to our school night game, we have three alternate games to choose from!
