Spencer-Owen Community School Corporation was honored today by the Indiana Executive Director of Homeland Security Joel Thacker and Federal Coordinating Officer Brian Schiller for their efforts in supporting Owen County residents following the deadly spring tornados.
The FEMA executives were quick to praise Superintendent Cline, Head of Maintenance Jeff Mauder, and local Emergency Director Jack White for jumping into action. FEMA noted that the school immediately offered their services to assist local families and epitomized the values of “neighbor helping neighbor.”
