Over 35 years ago, an OVHS English student sat in Mrs. Dawn Puckett's classroom and wrote a children's story for an assignment. Mrs. Puckett read the story and told this student that she loved it and that this student should consider having it illustrated and published.
Fast forward to 2022...
OVHS Class of 1988 Alumni Joan (Estep) Reding decided to take her high school English teacher's advice and published her story into a children's book. She recently shared a copy of her book with her friend and fellow classmate, SES kindergarten teacher Mrs. Tracy (Hamilton) Patterson.
Joan explained that she kept her story all these years and decided to collaborate with cousin, Landaca Czerniewski, who is a talented artist.
Her children's book is titled "The Biggest Snowball" and is available on Amazon.
