Special Education

It is important to keep consistency for your student during these challenging times.  We recommend creating a daily routine for your student.  The schedule can be flexible to meet the needs of your family.  The resources below may be helpful to incorporate into a daily routine.  We will continue to add resources, so please check back.  If your student's education team has provided additional resources, you will continue to have access to those as well.

What about students who receive Special Education services?

E-Learning days are instructional days, and just as general education students, are receiving educational opportunities, special education students have equal access to the same opportunities.  Special education teachers are working diligently to ensure that, during this unprecedented time, to the greatest extent possible, each student can be provided the special education and related services identified in the student's IEP.  The special education teachers are working very closely with general education teachers, and are available just like the general education teachers during e-learning days. Please reach out to your student's Teacher of Record if you have any questions related to the services in your student's IEP.

What about students who receive a Special Education related service such as speech language, occupational therapy, etc.?

If your student receives a direct related service (Speech-Language, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, etc.) those service providers are also working diligently to find ways, to the greatest extent possible, to meet the needs of your child. Related services providers are working along side the Teacher of Record (TOR) and general education teachers.  Direct services will be continued on a case-by-case basis.
