HOMEWORK:
Students will always be given time to begin and possibly complete their work, but sometimes, they will need to finish something at home. Turning in work that is well done, complete, and on time is a requirement for sixth grade.
SPELLING:
Spelling comes home on Friday, there is a pre-test on Monday, and a final test on Friday. Weekly work is due on Thursday.
SCIENCE AND SOCIAL STUDIES:
We alternate Social Studies and Science every four weeks.

ABOUT MS. NAIRN:
This is year 25+ teaching 6th grade for Spencer-Owen Community Schools. The first nine years, I taught at Owen Valley Middle School. Since then, I've been at Patricksburg Elementary. I enjoy reading, traveling and a good restaurant.
BEHAVIOR:
It is expected that students arrive at school ready to learn and that they behave in a manner that allows our entire class to succeed. You can track your child's work and behavior through the link below. Your child will receive a verbal warning for minor infractions, and will possibly lose time during recess if the behavior continues. For more serious issues, the office will be involved.
