I have been teaching at OVMS since 1995. I have been an inclusion teacher, taught 7th and 8th grade language arts, and 7th and 8th grade social studies. My education includes a B.S. in Elementary Education from Indiana University, with a minor in Special Education, and a M.S. in Special Education from Indiana University. My licensure includes social studies and language arts grades 5-9, elementary grades 1-8 (7-8 non departmentalized) and special education K-12.
I am a native of Solsberry, Indiana, but I currently reside in Bloomington with my husband and son. My husband is an aerospace engineer and my son in his in final year at Indiana University, where he is also a student manager for IU Football.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, and traveling.

Things to know:
All assignments are posted in Google Classroom - please check daily and keep up with daily work. This is especially important for those absent. Work is still expected to be completed and submitted when absences occur.
PowerSchool is updated regularly- missing assignments are noted and should be submitted ASAP.
It is important to ask for help when needed.
Students should check email daily for messages.
Phones and earbuds should be kept in lockers or parked in the "parking lot" during class. They are not needed for class unless specified.
Bring all materials to class each day - Chromebook, paper, pencil, folders, assignments.
Please, no food in class. Only water is permitted in class.
Be kind and respectful at all times.
