My name is Sarah Bougher. I am a pre-K teacher at McCormicks creek elementary. Before this I was an IA in one of the self-contained rooms here at MCES. I started working for Owen County school corporation November 2019. I really enjoy working with children. The stories they get to tell and the energy they bring to every activity is infectious. As an educator, I love getting to build a foundation of learning at such a young age. I don’t want kids just to come to school because they have to. I want them to love learning and find the joy in education. Helping develop useful human beings, and lifelong learners is a passion of mine. 

Education can take so many different forms. I believe hands-on play-based learning is the most impactful for anybody no matter their age. In my classroom we use play as the outlet for a lot of our learning activities. I also present opportunities for kids to try new things and develop skills they need to further their education. Not only do we make time for large group activities to develop their social skills. We have small group and one on one to make sure they comprehend the skills they are developing. When my students leave my class, I want them to feel confident I who they are no matter what environment they are in.
