Cheri Helms - SUN Room
Welcome to the SUN (Students with Unique Needs) Room! My name is Cheri Helms and this is my 10th year teaching. I started my career here at McCormick's Creek when I was student teaching and was lucky enough to be hired into the SUN Room right after graduation. I have been in this position ever since and I LOVE it!
I have also taken on the responsibility of being the Teacher of Students with Vision Impairments for Spencer-Owen Community Schools! So far, I have really enjoyed working with a few students who have visual impairments within the district and learning many new things!
My Husband, Jeremy and I have a beautiful blended family. We have his 2 biological children, Ellie (15) and Rylen (14), their half brother Braxlee (8), and our biological daughter Everly (4).
E-Learning Expectations
In the event of e-learning due to quarantine, closure, or scheduled e-learning day, the SUN room will participate via paperwork or Google Classroom depending on the child and their individual need. Individual sessions will be offered daily via Zoom or Google Meet.
