Principal's Message

Welcome to Gosport Elementary School! We are located in the Northern part of Owen County and serve students in Wayne, Harrison, and Montgomery townships. Gosport is famous for being located on the Ten O’Clock Line. In 1809, William Henry Harrison and the four main Native American tribes of Indiana made a treaty and changed the boundary line of the possessions of the colonies of the New America. Gosport is the only town which lies directly on this line. Still to this day the mascot of Gosport Elementary is the mighty Gosport Indian!

My name is Carol Watson and I have been the principal of Gosport Elementary since the fall of 2003. Prior to becoming the principal here, I was an elementary teacher at Eminence Elementary for 13 years. I am passionate about learning and strive to make learning a JOY for students every day! I am fortunate to have a wonderful staff to work with at the school that has that same goal of making learning JOYful for students! We have two Life Goals at Gosport- Treat People Right and Do The Right Thing! We work around those goals in everything that we do at the school as we feel that if we can do those two things the world will be a better place for all.

Thank you for visiting our website. Please, continue to do so to see the great things happening at Gosport Elementary School! Have an outstanding day!
