Principal's Message

Principal- Ms. Tabitha Freeman

Tabatha Freeman, Patricksburg Elementary School Principal

Thank you for visiting our website. I am honored to be at Spencer-Owen Community School Corporation, especially as alumni of the district. After graduating from Owen Valley High School and Indiana University, I worked as a classroom teacher for many years in the elementary setting, before joining the Indiana Department of Education. As an Outreach Coordinator for the IDOE, I supported and led principals and superintendents, within four school districts in the Indianapolis area. I worked within the School Improvement Division, focusing on "turnaround schools" that were struggling with school grades and student achievement. My role was to lead and support these schools through best practices to increase student achievement. While working at the IDOE, my principals and I achieved increased school accountability and an entire district moved out of school improvement status. But my greatest achievement comes not professionally, but personally, as I am a mother of one beautiful daughter, Kendall, (7).

As the principal of Patricksburg Elementary I cannot say enough positive things about the students, staff, and parents. We truly are a family here at Patricksburg and as a family we are always looking out for what is best for our students. We are continuously updating our page with up to date information and breaking news, so please check back often. If you are a prospective family, please contact our office at 812-859-4525 to schedule a tour and a meeting with me to discuss your child's education at PES.

Parents, families, and caregivers are the most critical part of our school success. You have a key role in providing an atmosphere that promotes education and quality work habits. Your support provides the foundation for students to come to school ready to learn. I strongly encourage you to be an active part of your child’s education by making sure they get to school on time and attend school regularly. Please ensure that your child reads each and every night. Academics require practice, just like piano, sports, and dance.

We are proud of the caring community that is Patricksburg Elementary School and the outstanding individuals that define our school- students, staff, parents, and community members. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at or at 812-859-4525.
